Global Music Nights is a series of four double concerts, presenting the latest developments in de Dutch World music scene! New Grounds is this year one of the locations where you can enjoy one of these double concerts, starting with a concert of Quinteto Ireeal and followed by a concert Beatriz.

Quinteto Irreal

Quinteto Irreal is an international, new urban tango project. They are presenting their album “Volver”, consisting of a full set of original arrangements written by the Argentinian pianist and composer Aleksandra Tonelli. The repertoire of this quintet is inspired by the “guardia vieja” style: fast, playful, fun! Quinteto Irreal is named after the legendary Quinteto Real, one of the most influential tango quintets of the 20th century. This project combines this unique traditional style with a fresh and authentic artistic view, for curious contemporary listeners.

BEATRIZ

BEATRIZ is a group of young musicians, led by Cuban Pianist Laura Beatriz Argudin. On this special night, they will be releasing their debut EP “Momentos”. High energy Afro-Cuban jazz compositions and arrangements will take you to nocturn Havana. This sextet consists out of a line-up of different nationalities with a collective love for Cuban music.
