For the first time, a Semi-Final is being added to the Jazz Competition. After weekend editions before the pandemic and a hybrid COVID-19 edition in 2021, the Semi-Final has been introduced to provide more talents with the opportunity to perform live for the jury and the audience.

The Semi-Finals will take place in Rotterdam at New Grounds and in Nijmegen, expanding the Jazz Competition’s reach nationwide in 2023. Similar to the COVID-19 edition, the first round will be conducted digitally. Young musicians will register, and shortly after the registration deadline, they will be notified if they have advanced to the Semi-Final.
