Every year there is a unique festival in Rotterdam… The Rotterdamse Dakendagen!

This means that we get to visit Rotterdam in a completely different fashion than what we are used to. However, new views are not the only things we experience on these Rotterdam rooftops! There is also dance, theatre, music, and other activities on the beautiful rooftops of Rotterdam. New Grounds will be one of those places. On the 3^rd and ^4th of June, there will be live music in the café and on the roof, and of course you can take a look at Rotterdam from our beautiful rooftop at the monumental HBS building.

Omar Ka is een in Rotterdam woonachtige Senegalese gitarist en zanger. Hij is afkomstig van de West-Afrikaanse stam de Fulani, een nomadenvolk. Omars muzikale talent kwam in Dakar tot bloei. Daar vandaan reisde hij met zijn band heel West-Afrika af. In 1996 besloot hij zich in Rotterdam te vestigen. In zijn muziek mengt hij de oude Afrikaanse muziektraditie met westerse invloeden.

The Omar Ka Fulani Band is een groep vrienden die al sinds 1991 bestaat in verschillende vormen en houdt van muzikale uitdagingen, experimenten en mooie muziek.
